The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has roaming angels who go about seeking gatherings of remembrance," and he then mentioned the rest of the hadith.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا وهيب حدثنا سهيل بن أبي صالح عن أبيه
عن النبي ﷺ قال إن لله ملائكة سيارة فضلا يبتغون مجالس الذكر فذكر الحديث
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of the two hadiths before it. We explained in the first of them that Muslim narrated it from this same route, through Hammad, from Wahib, with this wording. Tayalisi also narrated it, 2424, from Wahib, with this wording. Here, in Hammad's version, it reads, "from Suhayl, from Ibn Abu Salih," which is a clear error, most likely from the typesetter.As for the word "sayyarah" in this narration, it comes from sayr (traveling), and carries the same meaning as "sayyahin" (travelers) in the first narration. It is stated in Lisan, "Al-sayyarah means a caravan. Al-sayyarah also means people who travel." It came to mean a group of companions, or a company of people.
