Abu Hurairah reported,

Or from Abu Saeed, Amash being uncertain which. He said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has angels who roam the earth, apart from those who record people's deeds. When they find a group remembering Allah, they call out to one another, 'Come to what you have been seeking!' So they come and surround them all the way up to the lowest heaven. Then Allah asks, "What were My servants doing when you left them?"They reply, "We left them praising You, glorifying You, and remembering You."He asks, "Have they seen Me?"They reply, "No."He asks, "And how would it be if they had seen Me?"They reply, "If they had seen You, they would praise You, glorify You, and remember You even more."He asks, "And what are they seeking?"They reply, "They are seeking Paradise."He asks, "Have they seen it?"They reply, "No."He asks, "And how would it be if they had seen it?"They reply, "If they had seen it, they would be even more eager for it and even more insistent in seeking it."He asks, "And what are they seeking refuge from?"They reply, "From the Fire."He asks, "Have they seen it?"They reply, "No."He asks, "And how would it be if they had seen it?"They reply, "If they had seen it, they would flee from it all the harder and fear it all the more."Then He says, "I call you to witness that I have forgiven them."They say, "But among them is so-and-so, a sinner. He did not come for their sake at all, he only came for some need of his own."He says, "They are a company whose companion is never left wretched."
