Shall I tell you some brief sayings from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? A man should not drink directly from the mouth of a waterskin.
حدثنا سفيان عن أيوب عن عكرمة
أحدثكم بأشياء عن رسول الله ﷺ قصار لا يشرب الرجل من فم السقاء
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It has already appeared in similar wording at 7153, narrated by Ismail, who is Ibn Ulaya, from Ayub, with this same chain.As for this narration from Sufyan, Bukhari related it in 10:78, from Ibn Madini, from Sufyan, who said, Ayub told us, Ikrima said to us, "Shall I not tell you brief matters that Abu Hurairah told us?" The Messenger of Allah forbade drinking from the mouth of a waterskin or leather vessel.
