The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever finds his property in the possession of a man who has gone bankrupt has the greater right to it."

Its isnad is sahih. It has already appeared at 7124 from Hushaym, from Yahya, who is Ibn Saeed Ansari, with this same isnad and similarly worded. An error crept into some copies of the Musnad in both isnads, made by the copyists. In kh it reads "Yahya, from Abu Bakr," and in k it reads "Yahya, from Abu Bakr bin Ubayd," and both of these are clearly mistaken. The correct wording is preserved in m. It will come again at 7384, from Sufyan, with this isnad and with another isnad.
