Hujjiya reported,

A man asked Ali about the cow for sacrifice. Ali replied, "It suffices for seven."The man asked, "What if its horn is broken?"Ali said, "That does not harm you."The man asked, "What about a lame one?"Ali said, "If it reaches the place of sacrifice, then slaughter it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to carefully examine the eye and the ear."
