Marwan bin Hakam reported,
We were traveling with Uthman 
when a man called out the talbiyah for both Hajj and Umrah together.Uthman asked, "Who is this?"They replied, "Ali."Uthman said, "Do you not know that I have forbidden this?"Ali replied, "Yes, but I would not abandon the saying of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for your saying."

Sahihحدثنا وكيع حدثنا الأعمش عن مسلم البطين عن علي بن الحسين
عن مروان بن الحكم قال
كنا نسير مع عثمان رضي الله عنه فإذا رجل يلبي بهما جميعا فقال عثمان رضي الله عنه من هذا فقالوا علي فقال ألم تعلم أني قد نهيت عن هذا قال بلى ولكن لم أكن لأدع قول رسول الله ﷺ لقولك

Ahmad Shakir
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim Batin is Muslim bin Imran Kufi, and he is trustworthy. Marwan bin Hakam is trustworthy and not suspected of fabricating hadith. See 707.
