Its chain is sahih. Muslim related it, 1:273, through Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this same chain. Bukhari related it, 265, at greater length than this, through Shuayb, who is Ibn Abu Hamza, from Abu Zinad. He also related a portion of its beginning, 9:437–438, through Malik from Abu Zinad. The Hafiz stated explicitly that it is not found in Muwatta. So it is among what Malik related outside Muwatta.Mala (full): the feminine form of malan (full). Sahha, with a fatha on the sin and a doubled ha (both being unvoiced letters), Ibn Athir said it means continuously pouring and streaming with giving. One says, sahha yasihhu sahhan, so the active participle is sahh, and the feminine form is sahha, which follows the pattern faalaa with no corresponding afal form, like hatlaa. In another version, "the right hand of Allah is full, pouring," with tanween, functioning as a verbal noun."Nothing diminishes it," Ibn Athir said this means nothing decreases it. One says ghada l-maa yagheedu (the water receded), and ghadtuhu (I diminished it), and aghadtuhu, and ughidhuhu."The night and the day" are in the accusative as adverbs of time.
