Its isnad is sahih. Muslim also related it, 2:324, through the route of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this same isnad. Then he related it through other routes, with similar meaning.Bukhari related it with similar meaning, 6:208-209, through the route of Mughira bin Abdul-Rahman Qurashi, 13:349, through the route of Shuayb, and 13:370, through the route of Malik, all three of them from Abu Zinad. He also related it, 13:439, with similar wording, from the hadith of Abu Rafi from Abu Hurairah.Ibn Majah likewise related it, 2:299, through the route of Ibn Ajlan from his father from Abu Hurairah.
