The Prophet ﷺ said, "Every predatory animal with fangs is unlawful to eat."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن عن مالك عن إسماعيل بن أبي حكيم عن عبيدة بن سفيان
عن النبي ﷺ قال كل ذي ناب من السباع فأكله حرام
Its isnad is sahih. Ismail bin Abu Hakeem Madani, his reliability was already established at 1757, and we add here that Ahmad bin Salih said, "Ismail bin Abu Hakeem, from Ubayda bin Sufyan, this is one of the most firmly established isnads of the people of Madinah." Ibn Abu Hatim gave his biography in Jarh wa Tadil 1/1/164.Ubayda, with the ain vowelled as fatha, bin Sufyan bin Harith Hadrami, Ajli said, "A Madinan follower of the companions, trustworthy." Ibn Saad gave his biography in Tabaqat 5:187, and Ibn Abu Hatim in Jarh wa Tadil 3/1/91.The hadith is in Muwatta, page 496. Shafii related it from Malik in Risalah [number 562 in our edition], and in Umm 2:219. Muslim related it, 2:109-110, by way of Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi and by way of Ibn Wahb, both of them from Malik, with the same wording. Muslim's wording matches the version in the Musnad here.
