When Ramadan approached, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ramadan has come to you, a blessed month in which Allah has made fasting obligatory upon you. During it, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained. In it is a night better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its goodness has truly been deprived."

لما حضر رمضان قال رسول الله ﷺ قد جاءكم رمضان شهر مبارك افترض الله عليكم صيامه تفتح فيه أبواب الجنة ويغلق فيه أبواب الجحيم وتغل فيه الشياطين فيه ليلة خير من ألف شهر من حرم خيرها قد حرم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ismail bin Ibrahim is Ibn Ulaya. Ayub is Ibn Abu Tamima Sakhtiyani. Abu Qilaba, with a kasra on the qaf and a light lam, is Jarmi, whose name is Abdullah bin Zayd. His reliability was established earlier at 2191, and we add here that Ibn Saad gave his biography in Tabaqat 7/1/133-135, and Ibn Abu Hatim in Jarh wal-Tadil 2/2/57-58. In Tahdhib it is stated that it is said he did not hear from Abu Hurairah, but I found nothing to support this, and Abu Qilaba was not known for tadlis, and being contemporaries is sufficient grounds for ruling the chain connected.The hadith was narrated by Nasai, 1:299-300, by way of Abdul-Warith, from Ayub, with this chain. Ibn Kathir quoted it in his tafsir, 9:255, from this very place in the Musnad. Munziri mentioned it in Targhib wal-Tarhib, 2:69, and said, Nasai and Bayhaqi both narrated it, both of them from Abu Qilaba from Abu Hurairah, and he did not hear from him, as far as I know.
