Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of greed, for it destroyed those who came before you. It commanded them to oppression, so they oppressed. It commanded them to sever ties, so they severed them. It commanded them to wickedness, so they were wicked. Beware of injustice, for injustice will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection. Beware of obscenity, for Allah does not love obscenity or vulgar speech."A man stood up and asked, "Messenger of Allah, which of the Muslims is best?"He replied, "The one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe."Then he, or another man, stood and asked, "Messenger of Allah, which jihad is best?"He replied, "That of one whose horse is hamstrung and whose blood is shed."Ubayy said, and Yazid bin Harun mentioned in his version, then this man or someone else called out to him and asked, "Messenger of Allah, which migration is best?"He replied, "That you abandon what your Lord dislikes. There are two migrations, the migration of the desert dweller and the migration of the settled one. As for the migration of the desert dweller, he obeys when commanded and answers when called. As for the migration of the settled one, it is the more trying of the two and the greater in reward."

حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا المسعودي ويزيد قال أخبرنا المسعودي عن عمرو بن مرة عن عبد الله بن الحارث المكتب عن أبي كثير الزبيدي

عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ إياكم والشح فإنه أهلك من كان قبلكم أمرهم بالظلم فظلموا وأمرهم بالقطيعة فقطعوا وأمرهم بالفجور ففجروا وإياكم والظلم فإن الظلم ظلمات يوم القيامة وإياكم والفحش فإن الله لا يحب الفحش ولا التفحش قال فقام إليه رجل فقال يا رسول الله أي المسلمين أفضل قال من سلم المسلمون من لسانه ويده قال فقام هو أو آخر فقال يا رسول الله أي الجهاد أفضل قال من عقر جواده وأهريق دمه قال أبي وقال يزيد بن هارون في حديثه ثم ناداه هذا أو غيره فقال يا رسول الله أي الهجرة أفضل قال أن تهجر ما كره ربك وهما هجرتان هجرة للبادي وهجرة للحاضر فأما هجرة البادي فيطيع إذا أمر ويجيب إذا دعي وأما هجرة الحاضر فهي أشدهما بلية وأعظمهما أجرا
