I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah decreed the measures of all things fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth."
حدثنا أبو عبد الرحمن حدثنا حيوة وابن لهيعة قالا أخبرنا أبو هانئ الخولاني أنه سمع أبا عبد الرحمن الحبلي يقول سمعت
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول قدر الله المقادير قبل أن يخلق السموات والأرض بخمسين ألف سنة
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Tirmidhi also related it, 204, through Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, from Haywa bin Shurayh alone, with this chain, and he said, a hasan sahih hadith. Muslim also related it, 2:300-301, with similar wording, through Ibn Wahb, from Abu Hani, adding at the end, "He said, and His throne is upon the water." Then he related it again afterward through Abdullah bin Yazid, from Haywa, and through Nafi bin Yazid, both of them from Abu Hani, with this same chain, except that neither of them mentioned "and His throne is upon the water." Ibn Kathir cited it in his tafsir, 4:345-346, from Sahih Muslim.
