I was present with Ibn Umar when a man from Iraq asked him about a person in the state of ihram who killed a fly.Ibn Umar replied, "People of Iraq, you ask me about a pilgrim in ihram who killed a fly, when you yourselves have killed the son of the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'They are my two sweet basils from this world.'"
حدثنا سليمان بن داود أخبرنا شعبة عن محمد بن أبي يعقوب سمعت
شهدت ابن عمر وسأله رجل من أهل العراق عن محرم قتل ذبابا فقال يا أهل العراق تسألوني عن محرم قتل ذبابا وقد قتلتم ابن بنت رسول الله ﷺ وقد قال رسول الله ﷺ هما ريحانتي من الدنيا

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Sulayman bin Dawud is Abu Dawud Tayalisi. The hadith appears in his Musnad with this same chain, no. 1977. There it appears as "Ibn Abu Naeem," which is an error, similar to what occurred in the earlier narration in the Musnad, no. 5568, where we established its correctness. It is "Naeem," with a damma on the nun and a sakin ayn, without a ya. This hadith has also occurred previously at no. 5675 and 5940, through the route of Mahdi bin Maymun, from Muhammad bin Abu Yaqub.As for his saying, "They are my two sweet basils," in Tayalisi it reads, "They are my two sweet basils" (with the dual form spelled differently).
