Ibn Umar combined two prayers only once. News reached him that Safiya bint Abu Ubayd was seriously ill, so he set off after praying Asr, leaving the heavy baggage behind, and rode swiftly. He continued traveling until the time for Maghrib came.A man among his companions spoke to him, saying, "The prayer."He gave him no reply.Then another spoke to him, but he gave him no reply.Then another spoke to him, and he said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whenever he was pressed for time on a journey, delay this prayer in order to combine the two prayers together."

جمع ابن عمر بين الصلاتين مرة واحدة جاءه خبر عن صفية بنت أبي عبيد أنها وجعة فارتحل بعد أن صلى العصر وترك الأثقال ثم أسرع السير فسار حتى حانت صلاة المغرب فكلمه رجل من أصحابه فقال الصلاة فلم يرجع إليه شيئا ثم كلمه آخر فلم يرجع إليه شيئا ثم كلمه آخر فقال إني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ إذا استعجل به السير أخر هذه الصلاة حتى يجمع بين الصلاتين
