I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Do not prevent your women from going to the mosques when they ask your permission to do so."Bilal bin Abdullah said, "By Allah, we shall certainly prevent them."When he said that, Abdullah turned on him and rebuked him harshly.
حدثنا حجاج حدثنا ليث حدثني عقيل عن ابن شهاب أنه قال أخبرني سالم بن عبد الله أنه
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا تمنعوا يعني نساءكم المساجد إذا استأذنكم إليها قال بلال بن عبد الله والله لنمنعهن فأقبل عليه عبد الله حين قال ذلك فسبه
Its isnad is sahih. Something similar in meaning has already appeared many times, at length and in brief, including numbers 5640 and 6101. We noted in the commentary on 4933 that Muslim narrated it, 1:129, through Salim from his father. This is indeed that same narration from Salim, but in Muslim it is longer than what appears here.
