The Messenger of Allah ﷺ burned and cut down the date palms of Banu Nadir at al-Buwayrah. So Allah Most High revealed, "Whatever palm trees you cut down or left standing..." [Hashr 59:5] to the end of the verse.
حدثنا حجاج وأبو النضر قالا حدثنا ليث حدثني نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ حرق نخل بني النضير وقطع وهي البويرة فأنزل الله تعالى {ما قطعتم من لينة أو تركتموها} إلى آخر الآية
