The Messenger of Allah ﷺ designated Yalamlam as the place of ihram for the people of Yemen.
حدثنا الفضل بن دكين حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الله بن دينار
وقت رسول الله ﷺ لأهل اليمن يلملم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Umar did not hear the appointed place (miqat) of the people of Yemen from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself, but rather heard it from some of the companions, as he explicitly stated on several occasions previously, the last of which was 5853, narrated by Abdullah bin Dinar from him, and
5542, narrated by Nafi from him, and
4555, narrated by Salim from him. However, he would sometimes narrate it without clarifying this, trusting the one who had told him, in which case it becomes a mursal report from a companion, as is the case in this chain of transmission, and as previously occurred in the narration of Nafi from him at
4455, and in the narration of Sadaqah bin Yasar from him at
5492.
