I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, your duration compared to the nations before you is like the time between the afternoon prayer and sunset. The people of the Torah were given the Torah and they worked until midday, then they grew weary, so they were given one carat each. Then the people of the Gospel were given the Gospel and they worked until the afternoon prayer, then they grew weary, so they were given one carat each. Then we were given the Quran and we worked until sunset, so we were given two carats each. The people of the two scriptures said, 'Our Lord, why have You given these people two carats each while You gave us one carat each, when we did more work than them?'Allah the Exalted said, 'Have I wronged you in any of your reward?'They said, 'No.'He said, 'That is My favor, which I bestow upon whomever I will.'"
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of 6629. We noted there that Bukhari related it in 2:32-33 through Ibrahim bin Saad, so this is his route, but here it is from Yaqub bin Ibrahim from his father Ibrahim bin Saad, whereas in Bukhari it is from Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah from Ibrahim bin Saad.
