Ahmad 5900

Its isnad is sahih. Abu Aswad is Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Nawfal Al-Madani, the orphan raised by Urwa. His reliability was established earlier at 1748, and we add here that Bukhari mentioned him in Al-Kabir, 145/1/1.In H it appears as "from Aswad," with the word "Abu" dropped, which is an error. We corrected it from K and M.Al-Hafiz mentioned the hadith in Al-Fath, 293:4, and attributed it to Ahmad with this wording. He then said, Abu Dawud and Nasai narrated it with the wording, "He forbade anyone from selling food he had bought by measure until he had taken full possession of it." It appears in Abu Dawud, 3:299, and Nasai, 2:225, both of them narrating it through Ibn Wahb, from Amr bin Harith, from Mundhir bin Ubayd, from Qasim bin Muhammad, from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah forbade such and such.Its meaning has already appeared repeatedly with sahih chains, without restriction to measure or weight, the most recent being 5861.
