I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The finest act of kindness is for a person to maintain ties with the loved ones of his father after he has passed away."
حدثنا إسحاق بن عيسى حدثنا ليث حدثني يزيد بن عبد الله بن الهاد عن عبد الله بن دينار
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول أبر البر صلة المرء أهل ود أبيه بعد إذ يولي
Its isnad is sahih. It is a repetition of 5612, and a fuller version appears at 5721.Silat al-mar ("the bond of the man") appears in a marginal note of manuscripts K and M as al-rajul ("the man"). Baada idh yuwalli ("after he turns away") appears in manuscript K with an in place of idha, and this same variant is noted in the margin of M.
