The Prophet ﷺ used to pray the two units before the dawn prayer as though the call to prayer were ringing in his ears.
حدثنا أبو كامل أخبرنا حماد حدثنا أنس بن سيرين
أن النبي ﷺ كان يصلي الركعتين قبل صلاة الفجر كأن الأذان في أذنيه
Its isnad is sahih. This is an abridgment of 5490. Regarding his saying, "before the Fajr prayer," I have written, between the lines above the word "Fajr," the word "dawn," indicating that this is how it appears in one of the manuscript copies.
