A drunk man was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he had him flogged with the prescribed punishment.Then he asked, "What did you drink?"The man replied, "Raisins and dates."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not mix the two. Each one of them is sufficient on its own."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن أبي إسحاق عن النجراني
أتي رسول الله ﷺ بسكران فضربه الحد ثم قال ما شرابك فقال زبيب وتمر فقال لا تخلطهما يكفي كل واحد منهما من صاحبه
Its isnad is daif due to the obscurity of Najrani. It has already appeared with this same isnad at 4786, and it also appeared at length at 5129, likewise narrated by this Najrani.
