The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade eating two dates together unless you ask permission from your companions.
حدثنا محمد بن فضيل حدثنا الشيباني عن جبلة بن سحيم
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الإقران إلا أن تستأذن أصحابك
Its isnad is sahih. Shaybani is Abu Ishaq Sulayman bin Abu Sulayman. Abu Dawud narrated this hadith, 3:426-427, from Wasil bin Abdul-Ala, from Ibn Fudayl with this isnad. Munziri said, Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Nasai, and Ibn Majah also recorded it. See 1716.Al-iqran, this is al-qiran with a kasrah on the qaf, and it means combining two dates together while eating.
