Regarding this verse, "The Hour has drawn near and the moon has split" [Qamar 54:1], he said that it split during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ into two parts, or two pieces. Shuba was the one who was uncertain. One piece was behind the mountain and the other was on the mountain. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah, bear witness."
