I asked, "Messenger of Allah, which sin is greatest in the sight of Allah ?"He replied, "That you set up a rival to Allah
when He created you."I asked, "Then what?"He said, "That you kill your child out of fear that he will eat your food." Abdul-Rahman once said, "That he will eat with you."I asked, "Then what?"He said, "That you commit adultery with your neighbor's wife."
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repeat of 3612 and 4102. But here an addition has been made in the isnad, namely Amr bin Shurahbil between Abu Waail and Ibn Masud, and likewise in what comes at 4134.It appears to me that Abu Waail heard it from Abdullah bin Masud directly, and also from Amr bin Shurahbil from Ibn Masud, and perhaps Amr verified it carefully, so he narrated it this way once and that way another time.Bukhari narrated it repeatedly, and the Hafiz spoke at length in al-Fath about this addition in the isnad, so refer to it at 8:378 and 22:101-102.
