The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them." He repeated this three or four times. "Then there will come a people whose testimony will outrun their oath and whose oath will outrun their testimony."The narrator said, "Our elders used to strike us when we were young boys for giving testimony or making a covenant."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن قال حدثنا سفيان عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن عبيدة
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال خير الناس قرني ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم ثلاثا أو أربعا ثم يجيء قوم تسبق شهادة أحدهم يمينه ويمينه شهادته قال وكان أصحابنا يضربونا ونحن صبيان على الشهادة والعهد
