A man came to Abdullah bin Masud and said, "Last night I recited the entire Mufassal portion in a single rakah."Abdullah replied, "Was it scattered like the dropping of dry dates, or rushed like the hurried recitation of poetry? I know well the matching surahs that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pair together, two in each rakah."

جاء رجل إلى عبد الله بن مسعود فقال إني قرأت البارحة المفصل في ركعة فقال عبد الله أنثرا كنثر الدقل وهذا كهذ الشعر إني لأعلم النظائر التي كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرن بينهن سورتين في ركعة
