The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has distributed your characters among you just as He has distributed your provisions among you. Allah gives worldly things to those He loves and those He does not love, but He gives the religion only to those He loves. So whoever Allah grants the religion, He has truly loved him.By the One in whose hand is my soul, no servant becomes a Muslim until his heart and tongue submit, and no one truly believes until his neighbor is safe from his bawaiq."They asked, "What are his bawaiq, Prophet of Allah?"He replied, "His oppression and injustice. No servant earns wealth from forbidden sources and then spends from it and finds blessing in it, nor gives it in charity and has it accepted from him, nor leaves it behind him except that it becomes his provision to the Fire. Allah
does not wipe out evil with evil, but He wipes out evil with good. Indeed, filth does not erase filth."
Its isnad is daif, like the one before it. It is found in Majma al-Zawaid 1:53, where it is stated, "Ahmad narrated it, and some of the men in its isnad are obscure, though most of them are trustworthy." A similar account with the same meaning is also mentioned on the authority of Ibn Masud, 10:292, where it is stated, "Bazzar narrated it, and it contains narrators I do not recognize." Ibn Hajar commented on this in his own handwriting in the original copy of Majma al-Zawaid preserved at Dar al-Kutub al-Misriyyah, saying, "All of them are known, and the defect lies with Sabbah bin Muharib." Hakim also narrated part of it with the same meaning in al-Mustadrak, 1:23-24, through Thawri, from Zubayd, from Murrah, from Ibn Masud, and he graded it sahih, a judgment with which Dhahabi agreed.
