The Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca, and around the Kaabah were three hundred and sixty idols. He began striking them with a stick he held in his hand, saying, "Truth has come, and falsehood can neither originate anything nor restore it" [Saba 34:49], "Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is ever bound to vanish" [Isra 17:81].
حدثنا سفيان عن ابن أبي نجيح عن مجاهد عن أبي معمر
دخل النبي ﷺ وحول الكعبة ستون وثلاث مائة نصب فجعل يطعنها بعود كان بيده ويقول {جاء الحق وما يبدئ الباطل وما يعيد} {جاء الحق وزهق الباطل إن الباطل كان زهوقا}
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Kathir cited it in the tafsir, 5:224, from Bukhari, via Ibn Uyayna, with the same wording, and said, Bukhari also related it likewise in another place, as did Muslim, Tirmidhi, and Nasai, all of them through routes from Sufyan bin Uyayna, and Abdul-Razzaq also related it likewise from Ibn Abu Najeeh, with the same wording. And in Dhakhair Mawarith, 4751, it is noted that Tirmidhi also related it.
