Ibn Abbas wrote to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The oath is upon the one against whom the claim is made. If people were granted whatever they claimed, some would claim the wealth and lives of others."

كتب إلي ابن عباس أن رسول الله ﷺ قال اليمين على المدعى عليه ولو أن الناس أعطوا بدعواهم لادعى ناس أموالا كثيرة ودماء
