A man stood up before Ibn Abbas and said, "The prayer!" Ibn Abbas remained silent. The man said again, "The prayer!" He remained silent. The man said once more, "The prayer!"Ibn Abbas then replied, "Are you teaching us about the prayer? We used to combine two prayers together with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," or he said, "during the time of the Messenger of Allah."Muaz said, "During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا عمران بن حدير ومعاذ قال حدثنا عمران يعني ابن حدير
قام رجل إلى ابن عباس فقال الصلاة فسكت عنه ثم قال الصلاة فسكت عنه ثم قال الصلاة فقال أنت تعلمنا بالصلاة قد كنا نجمع بين الصلاتين مع رسول الله ﷺ أو على عهد رسول الله قال معاذ على عهد رسول الله ﷺ
