Malik bin Aws bin Hadathan reported,

I came with some dinars of mine wanting to exchange them. Talha bin Ubaydullah met me and took them to exchange, then said, "Wait until my treasurer Salm arrives." Abu Amir said, "From al-Ghabah." And he said in all of them, "Hand to hand."So I asked Umar bin Khattab about this, and he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Gold for silver is usury unless it is hand to hand, wheat for wheat is usury unless it is hand to hand, barley for barley is usury unless it is hand to hand, and dates for dates is usury unless it is hand to hand.'"

حدثنا عثمان بن عمر وأبو عامر قال حدثنا مالك عن الزهري

عن مالك بن أوس بن الحدثان قال

جئت بدنانير لي فأردت أن أصرفها فلقيني طلحة بن عبيد الله فاصطرفها وأخذها فقال حتى يجيء سلم خازني قال أبو عامر من الغابة وقال فيها كلها هاء وهاء قال فسألت عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه عن ذلك فقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول الذهب بالورق ربا إلا هاء وهاء والبر بالبر ربا إلا هاء وهاء والشعير بالشعير ربا إلا هاء وهاء والتمر بالتمر ربا إلا هاء وهاء
