Saad bin Ubada (Ibn Bakr says, the brother of Banu Saidah) had a mother who died while he was away from her. He said, "Messenger of Allah, my mother passed away while I was absent. Will it benefit her if I give something in charity on her behalf?"He replied, "Yes."Saad said, "Then I call you to witness that my walled garden of date palms is a charity on her behalf."Ibn Bakr said, "al-Mikhraf."

أن سعد بن عبادة قال ابن بكر أخا بني ساعدة توفيت أمه وهو غائب عنها فقال يا رسول الله إن أمي توفيت وأنا غائب عنها فهل ينفعها إن تصدقت بشيء عنها قال نعم قال فإني أشهدك أن حائط المخرف صدقة عليها وقال ابن بكر المخراف
Its isnad is sahih. Yaala is Ibn Hakeem Thaqafi, see 3049. The mother of Saad bin Ubada is the daughter of Masud bin Qays bin Amr bin Zayd Manat bin Adi al-Najariyyah al-Ansariyyah. She died in the year 5, in the month of Rabi Awwal, while the Prophet ﷺ was on the expedition of Dumat Jandal. When the Messenger of Allah came to Madinah, he went to her grave and prayed over her.Her father had five daughters, each of them named Amrah, and all of them gave the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah. This one is the fourth of them in the ordering of Ibn Saad, 8:330–331, while the Hafiz in al-Isabah, 8:147, places her as the first. I think that Ibn Saad's ordering is more likely correct in this matter.
