The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Jibreel led me in prayer at the House. He prayed Dhuhr with me when the sun had passed its zenith and the shadow was the length of a sandal strap. Then he prayed Asr with me when the shadow of everything was twice its length. Then he prayed Maghrib with me when the fasting person breaks his fast. Then he prayed Isha with me when the twilight had disappeared. Then he prayed Fajr with me when food and drink become forbidden to the fasting person.The next day, he prayed Dhuhr with me when the shadow of everything was equal to its length. Then he prayed Asr with me when the shadow of everything was twice its length. Then he prayed Maghrib with me when the fasting person breaks his fast. Then he prayed Isha with me at the end of the first third of the night. Then he prayed Fajr with me when the sky had grown light.Then he turned to me and said, 'Muhammad, this is the time of the prophets before you. The proper time is between these two times.'"
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الرحمن بن الحارث حدثني حكيم بن حكيم عن نافع بن جبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ أمني جبريل عند البيت فصلى بي الظهر حين زالت الشمس فكانت بقدر الشراك ثم صلى بي العصر حين كان ظل كل شيء مثليه ثم صلى بي المغرب حين أفطر الصائم ثم صلى بي العشاء حين غاب الشفق ثم صلى بي الفجر حين حرم الطعام والشراب على الصائم ثم صلى الغد الظهر حين كان ظل كل شيء مثله ثم صلى بي العصر حين صار ظل كل شيء مثليه ثم صلى بي المغرب حين أفطر الصائم ثم صلى بي العشاء إلى ثلث الليل الأول ثم صلى بي الفجر فأسفر ثم التفت إلي فقال يا محمد هذا وقت الأنبياء من قبلك الوقت فيما بين هذين الوقتين
