Umm Hufayd, the maternal aunt of Ibn Abbas, gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a gift of clarified butter, dried curd, and lizards. He ate from the butter and the curd but left the lizards out of distaste. Ibn Abbas said, "They were eaten at the table of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and had they been forbidden, they would not have been eaten at the table of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
حدثنا هاشم حدثنا شعبة قال أخبرني جعفر بن إياس قال سمعت سعيد بن جبير
أهدت أم حفيد خالة ابن عباس لرسول الله ﷺ سمنا وأقطا وأضبا فأكل من السمن ومن الأقط وترك الأضب تقذرا قال وأكل على مائدة رسول الله ﷺ ولو كان حراما لم يؤكل على مائدة رسول الله ﷺ
