Abu Ajfa reported,

I heard Umar say, "Indeed, do not exceed the proper limits in the dowries of women," and he mentioned the hadith.Ismail said that Ayub, Hisham, and Ibn Awn related from Muhammad, from Abu Ajfa, from Umar, something similar to the hadith of Salama, except that they said Muhammad did not say, "I was informed from Abu Ajfa."

حدثنا إسماعيل مرة أخرى أخبرنا سلمة بن علقمة عن محمد بن سيرين قال نبئت

عن أبي العجفاء قال

سمعت عمر يقول ألا لا تغلوا صدق النساء فذكر الحديث قال إسماعيل وذكر أيوب وهشام وابن عون عن محمد عن أبي العجفاء عن عمر نحوا من حديث سلمة إلا أنهم قالوا لم يقل محمد نبئت عن أبي العجفاء
