Marwan, during his governorship over Medina, mentioned that a man must perform ablution after touching his penis if he touches it directly with his hand. I objected to this and said, "There is no ablution required upon one who touches it."Marwan replied, "Busra bint Safwan informed me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention what requires ablution, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'And one performs ablution after touching the penis.'"Urwa said, I continued to dispute with Marwan until he called one of his guards and sent him to Busra to ask her about what she had narrated regarding this. Busra sent back to him the same account that Marwan had related to me from her.

ذكر مروان في إمارته على المدينة أنه يتوضأ من مس الذكر إذا أفضى إليه الرجل بيده فأنكرت ذلك عليه فقلت لا وضوء على من مسه فقال مروان أخبرتني بسرة بنت صفوان أنها سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يذكر ما يتوضأ منه فقال رسول الله ﷺ ويتوضأ من مس الذكر قال عروة فلم أزل أماري مروان حتى دعا رجلا من حرسه فأرسله إلى بسرة يسألها عما حدثت من ذلك فأرسلت إليه بسرة بمثل الذي حدثني عنها مروان
