Kaab bin Malik reported,

It was said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Allah has revealed concerning poetry what He has revealed."He replied, "The believer strives with his sword and his tongue. By the One in whose hand is my soul, what you strike them with is like a shower of arrows."

حدثنا عبد الرزاق قال أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري

عن عبد الرحمن بن كعب بن مالك عن أبيه أنه قال

للنبي ﷺ إن الله عز وجل قد أنزل في الشعر ما أنزل فقال إن المؤمن يجاهد بسيفه ولسانه والذي نفسي بيده لكأن ما ترمونهم به نضح النبل
