Ali bin Husayn sent me to Rabi bint Muawiz bin Afra, and I asked her about the wudu of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She brought out a vessel that held about a mudd, or roughly a mudd and a quarter. Sufyan said, "It seems he meant the Hashimi measure."She said, "I used to bring out water for him in this vessel. He would pour it over his hands three times."On another occasion she said, "He would wash his hands before putting them into the water, then wash his face three times, rinse his mouth three times, sniff water into his nose three times, wash his right hand three times and his left hand three times, and wipe his head."She said once, or perhaps twice, "moving forward and back. Then he would wash his feet three times. A cousin of yours came to me and asked me about this, namely Ibn Abbas. I told him, and he said, 'I find nothing in the Book of Allah except two wipings and two washings.'"
