It is reported that Marwan sent word to Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, dispatching his freed slave to her.She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would rise in the morning in a state of major ritual impurity, then continue his fast without breaking it."The freed slave returned to Marwan and informed him of her reply. Marwan then sent his freed slave, or his servant Zakwan, to Ayesha.She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would rise in the morning in a state of major ritual impurity from intercourse, not from a wet dream, then continue his fast without breaking it."Marwan then said to him, "Go to Abu Hurairah and inform him of this."He went to Abu Hurairah and conveyed to him what Umm Salama and Ayesha had said.Abu Hurairah replied, "They know better."

حدث أن مروان بعث إلى أم سلمة زوج النبي ﷺ فأرسل إليها مولاها فقالت كان رسول الله ﷺ يصبح جنبا فيصوم ولا يفطر قال فرجع إليه فأخبره قال فبعث إلى عائشة فبعث إليها مولاها أو غلامها ذكوان فقالت كان رسول الله ﷺ يصبح جنبا من جماع غير حلم فيصوم ولا يفطر فقال له ائت أبا هريرة فأخبره فانطلق إلى أبي هريرة فأخبره عن أم سلمة وعن عائشة فقال هما أعلم
