Marwan bin Hakam sent him to Umm Salama and Ayesha. He said, "I met her servant Nafi and sent him in to her with the question. He came back and informed me that she had said, 'The Prophet of Allah ﷺ would enter the morning in a state of major ritual impurity and still continue his fast.'Then he sent me to Ayesha. I met her servant Zakwan and sent him in to her. He came back and informed me that she had said, 'The Prophet of Allah ﷺ would enter the morning in a state of major ritual impurity from intercourse, not from a wet dream, and would still continue his fast.'"He said, "I went to Marwan and reported this to him."Marwan said, "I insist that you go to Abu Hurayra and tell him about this."So I went to him and told him, and he said, "They know best."

أن مروان بن الحكم بعثه إلى أم سلمة وعائشة قال فلقيت غلامها نافعا فأرسلته إليها فسألها قال فرجع إلي فأخبرني أنها قالت إن نبي الله ﷺ كان يصبح جنبا ويصبح صائما قال ثم بعثني إلى عائشة فلقيت غلامها ذكوان فأرسلته إليها فرجع إلي فأخبرني أنها قالت إن نبي الله ﷺ كان يصبح جنبا من جماع غير احتلام ثم يصبح صائما قال فأتيت مروان فأخبرته فقال أقسمت عليك لتأتين أبا هريرة فلتخبرنه به فأتيته فأخبرته فقال هن أعلم
