He asked Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, about the night prayer of the Prophet ﷺ. She said, "The Prophet ﷺ would pray the late evening prayer, then glorify Allah, then pray afterward as much of the night as Allah willed. Then he would leave and sleep for as long as he had prayed. Then he would wake from that sleep and pray for as long as he had slept, and that final prayer of his would extend until dawn."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا ابن جريج قال قال عبد الله بن أبي مليكة أخبرني
أنه سأل أم سلمة زوج النبي ﷺ عن صلاة النبي ﷺ بالليل قالت كان النبي ﷺ يصلي العشاء الآخرة ثم يسبح ثم يصلي بعدها ما شاء الله عز وجل من الليل ثم ينصرف فيرقد مثل ما يصلي ثم يستيقظ من نومته تلك فيصلي مثل ما نام وصلاته تلك الآخرة تكون إلى الصبح
