He asked Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, about the Prophet's ﷺ night prayer.She replied, "He would pray the late evening prayer, then glorify Allah, then pray afterward as much as Allah willed during the night. Then he would withdraw and sleep for the same length of time as he had prayed. Then he would wake from that sleep and pray for the same length of time as he had slept. His final prayer would extend until dawn."

أنه سأل أم سلمة زوج النبي ﷺ عن صلاة النبي ﷺ بالليل قالت كان يصلي العشاء الآخرة ثم يسبح ثم يصلي بعدها ما شاء الله من الليل ثم ينصرف فيرقد مثل ما صلى ثم يستيقظ من نومته تلك فيصلي مثل ما نام وصلاته الآخرة تكون إلى الصبح
