Abdul-Rahman bin Awf came in to see her and said, "Mother, I fear that the abundance of my wealth will destroy me. I am the wealthiest man among the Quraysh."She replied, "My son, then spend it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Among my companions are those who will not see me after I part from them.'"He left and met Umar, and told him what she had said. Umar came and entered upon her and asked her, "By Allah, am I one of them?"She answered, "No, and I will never give such assurance to anyone after you."
حدثنا أبو معاوية قال حدثنا الأعمش عن شقيق
دخل عليها عبد الرحمن بن عوف قال فقال يا أمه قد خفت أن يهلكني كثرة مالي أنا أكثر قريش مالا قالت يا بني فأنفق فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن من أصحابي من لا يراني بعد أن أفارقه فخرج فلقي عمر فأخبره فجاء عمر فدخل عليها فقال لها بالله منهم أنا فقالت لا ولن أبلي أحدا بعدك
