Abdullah bin Umar reported,

I met Ibn Sayyad twice. On one occasion, I met him while he was with some of his companions. I said to some of them, "I adjure you by Allah, if I ask you about something, will you tell me the truth?"They said, "Yes."I asked, "Are you telling me that he is the one?"They said, "No."I said, "By Allah, you have lied. Some of you told me that he would not die until he became the wealthiest of you in property and children, and today he is just that."He then spoke with us, and I parted from him. Then I met him another time, and his eye had become defective. I asked, "When did your eye become as I see it?"He said, "I do not know."I said, "You do not know, when it is in your own head?"He said, "What do you want from me, Ibn Umar? If Allah Most High wishes to create it from this staff of yours, He will create it." Then he snorted as loudly as the loudest braying of a donkey I have ever heard. Some of my companions claimed that I struck him with a staff that was with me until it broke, but as for me, by Allah, I was not aware of it. Then I went in to his sister Hafsah and told her what had happened. She said, "What do you want from him? Do you not know that he," meaning the Prophet ﷺ, "said that his first appearance among the people would result from anger that would provoke him?"
