Ibn Umar saw Ibn Sayyad in one of the alleys of Medina. Ibn Umar insulted him and spoke harshly to him, whereupon Ibn Sayyad swelled up until he blocked the road. Ibn Umar struck him with a stick he had with him until he broke it on him.Hafsah said to him, "What is the matter between you and him? What makes you so eager to provoke him? Have you not heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that Dajjal will only emerge out of a fit of rage that overtakes him?"Affan's version says, "at a fit of rage that overtakes him." Yunus, in his version, said, "What makes you so set against him?"
