The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out for the Hajj when five nights of Dhul-Qadah remained, and the people were speaking of nothing but the Hajj. When he reached Sarif, having brought sacrificial animals with him along with some of the prominent people, he ordered the people to convert their intention into Umrah, except for those who had brought sacrificial animals.I had begun my menstrual period that day, and he came in to find me weeping.He asked, "What is the matter, Ayesha? Perhaps you have begun your period?"I said, "Yes. By Allah, I wish I had not come out with you on this journey this year."He said, "Do not say that. You will perform everything the pilgrims perform, except that you will not circumambulate the House."So I continued with my Hajj, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Mecca. Everyone who had not brought sacrificial animals exited the state of ihram, and his wives exited it with Umrah.On the Day of Sacrifice, a large quantity of beef was brought and placed in my house.I asked, "What is this?"They replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has slaughtered cows on behalf of his wives."When the night at Hasbah came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me with my brother Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr, and he had me perform an Umrah from Tanim in place of the Umrah I had missed.My father said, Yaqub also narrated to us in another place regarding the Hajj that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded his wives to exit ihram with Umrah, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded the people that whoever had not brought a sacrificial animal should exit ihram, and he commanded those among the prominent people who had brought sacrificial animals to remain in their state of consecration.
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق قال فحدثني عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن أبيه القاسم بن محمد
خرج رسول الله ﷺ إلى الحج لخمس ليال بقين من ذي القعدة ولا يذكر الناس إلا الحج حتى إذا كان بسرف وقد ساق رسول الله ﷺ معه الهدي وأشراف من الناس أمر الناس أن يحلوا بعمرة إلا من ساق الهدي وحضت ذلك اليوم فدخل علي وأنا أبكي فقال ما لك يا عائشة لعلك نفست قالت قلت نعم والله لوددت أني لم أخرج معكم عامي هذا في هذا السفر قال لا تفعلي لا تقولي ذلك فإنك تقضين كل ما يقضي الحاج إلا أنك لا تطوفين بالبيت قالت فمضيت على حجتي ودخل رسول الله ﷺ مكة فحل كل من كان لا هدي معه وحل نساؤه بعمرة فلما كان يوم النحر أتيت بلحم بقر كثير فطرح في بيتي فقلت ما هذا قالوا ذبح رسول الله ﷺ عن نسائه البقر حتى إذا كانت ليلة الحصبة بعثني رسول الله ﷺ مع أخي عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر فأعمرني من التنعيم مكان عمرتي التي فاتتني قال أبي وحدثنا يعقوب في موضع آخر في الحج وأمر رسول الله ﷺ نساءه فحللن بعمرة وأمر رسول الله ﷺ الناس أن يحل من لم يكن معه هدي وأمر من كان معه هدي من أشراف الناس أن يثبت على حرمه
