Abdullah bin Rabah reported,

He came to Ayesha and said, "I want to ask you about something, but I feel shy before you."She replied, "Ask whatever you wish, for I am your mother."He said, "Mother of the Believers, what makes the ritual bath obligatory?"She answered, "When the two circumcised parts meet, the state of major impurity occurs and the bath becomes obligatory."Qatada used to follow up this hadith by saying that Ayesha said, "I did this with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and we performed the ritual bath." But I do not know whether this addition is part of the hadith itself, or whether it was something Qatada used to add on his own.

عن عبد الله بن رباح

أنه دخل على عائشة فقال إني أريد أن أسألك عن شيء وإني أستحييك فقالت سل ما بدا لك فإنما أنا أمك فقلت يا أم المؤمنين ما يوجب الغسل فقالت إذا اختلف الختانان وجبت الجنابة فكان قتادة يتبع هذا الحديث أن عائشة قالت قد فعلت أنا ورسول الله ﷺ فاغتسلنا فلا أدري أشيء في هذا الحديث أم كان قتادة يقوله
