The Prophet ﷺ passed by Abu Qatada while he was standing over a man he had killed and said, "Leave him and his belongings to him."
حدثنا عتاب قال أخبرنا عبد الله أخبرنا سفيان عن الحكم عن مقسم
أن النبي ﷺ مر على أبي قتادة وهو عند رجل قد قتله فقال دعوه وسلبه

Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Majma al-Zawaid 5:330-331, where he said, "Ahmad, Abu Yaala, and Tabarani in al-Kabir and al-Awsat narrated it with the same meaning, and the men of Ahmad and al-Kabir are the men of sahih, except for Itaab bin Ziyad, and he is trustworthy." The name Ahmad was not mentioned in al-Zawaid, a printing error, as is clear.
