Ayesha reported,

When the verse "If you desire Allah and His Messenger" [Ahzab 33:29] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me and began with me. He said, "Ayesha, I am going to mention something to you, and there is no need for you to hasten in answering until you consult your parents."She said, "He knew, by Allah, that they would never command me to leave him."She said, then he recited to me, "Prophet, say to your wives, 'If you desire the life of this world and its adornment'" [Ahzab 33:28].I said, "Is it about this that I should consult my parents? I desire Allah and His Messenger and the abode of the Hereafter."

عن عائشة قالت

لما نزلت {إن كنتن تردن الله ورسوله} دخل علي رسول الله ﷺ بدأ بي فقال يا عائشة إني ذاكر لك أمرا فلا عليك أن لا تعجلي فيه حتى تستأمري أبويك قالت قد علم والله لم يكونا ليأمراني بفراقه قالت فقرأ علي {يا أيها النبي قل لأزواجك إن كنتن تردن الحياة الدنيا وزينتها} فقلت أفي هذا أستأمر أبوي فإني أريد الله عز وجل ورسوله والدار الآخرة
